A goniometer translation stage is a type of rotation stage where the axis of rotation is situated parallel to and above the mounting platform.  In contrast, a standard rotation stage has its axis of rotation situated orthogonally to the mounting platform.   Goniometers are also designed to be stacked so to have intersecting orthogonal axes of rotation. In this configuration, they have capability for orbit-like positioning about a single point.   • Steel EXC™ Precision-Bearing Micrometer 1-Axis Goniometers

    Description

    OptoSigma's Steel micrometer-driven EXC™ Precision-Bearing goniometers are an absolute marvel of translation stage engineering. They are the first and only goniometer to feature curved EXC™ precision bearing ways that are processed directly into the body and base. This construction results in the highest stiffness, load capacity and smoothness of any stage on the market. The EXC™ patented bearing technology also provides the GOHT with low-friction, high-resolution movement as well as rotation axis displacement that is 1/10th the magnitude of dovetail bearing goniometers. As with all goniometers, the axis of rotation is situated parallel to and above the mounting platform but they are also designed to be stacked so to have intersecting orthogonal axes of rotation. In this configuration, they have capability for orbit-like positioning about a single point. This family of GOHT stages are micrometer driven for recordable movements and include a carriage lock.   • Steel EXC™ Precision-Bearing Lead Screw 1&2-Axis Goniometers

    Description

    OptoSigma's leadscrew-driven, Steel EXC™ Precision-Bearing goniometers provide rotation about an axis that is situated parallel to and above the mounting platform. The 2-axis versions are stacked and have intersecting orthogonal axes of rotation. In this configuration, they have capability for orbit-like positioning about a single point. They are the first and only goniometer to feature curved EXC™ precision bearing ways which are processed directly into the body and base, resulting in the highest stiffness, load capacity and smoothness of any stage on the market. This patented bearing technology also provides the them with nearly friction free high-resolution movement as well as rotation axis displacement that is 1/10th the magnitude of dovetail bearing goniometer displacement. This family of GOHT stages include a Vernier scale which allows angular readings to 0.10 degree. All include locks, are made entirely from hardened tool steel, and are plated with an RoHS-Compliant black chrome.

  • Brass 1&2-Axis Goniometers

    Description

    Our traditional brass goniometers are available in 15-, 25-, 40-, 60- and 65-mm square platform sizes. The brass material ensures exceptionally smooth low friction movement. They are available with either dovetail bearings or with v-groove bearings for inverted use. The drive screw incorporates a high-tolerance worm-gear mechanism which yields angular position readable to less than 12 arc minutes using the Vernier scale. As with all goniometers, the axis of rotation is situated parallel to and above the mounting platform. OptoSigma goniometers of like-size are designed to be stacked so that they have intersecting orthogonal axes of rotation. In this configuration, they have capability for orbit-like positioning about a single point. The GOH series of goniometers are lockable and finished in a flawless RoHS-compliant super black chrome.

  • Large Aluminum 1&2-Axis Goniometers

    Description

    OptoSigma's Aluminum 1 and 2-Axis Goniometers are large 120mm platform all-aluminum rotation stages with exceptionally high rotation-axis heights, the largest being 228 mm (almost 9 inches high). They are driven by a high-tolerance worm-gear mechanism which, along with its high precision ball-bearing guides, yields angular position readable to 1 arc minute using the Vernier scale. As with all goniometers, the axis of rotation is situated parallel to and above the mounting platform but they are also designed to be stacked so that they have intersecting orthogonal axes of rotation. In this configuration, they have capability for orbit-like positioning about a single point. These goniometers are lockable and finished in a RoHS-compliant black anodize.
