Spherical Lenses

Spherical Lenses

Spherical lenses are the most common lens type and OptoSigma offers many standard versions, including Bi-convex (positive lens) , Bi-concave (negative lens), Plano-concave, and Plano-convex in N-BK7 (and equivalents) or Fused Silica either AR coated or uncoated for your needs.  Other varieties, such as meniscus, are available on a custom basis and we offer other substrate materials as well.  Contact us for your semi-custom or custom needs.

  • Plano Convex Spherical Lenses

    Description

Plano Convex Spherical lenses are ideal for focusing parallel rays of light to a focal point and may be used to collimate, collect, or focus.  We offer one of the industry’s largest selection of Plano Convex Spherical lenses, or “PCX Lenses”.  You will find diameters ranging from 5mm all the way up to 100mm and with both Imperial and metric standard sizes.  Choose from either N-BK7 or Fused Silica in this section and one of our standard broadband AR coatings.  We also offer numerous alternative AR coatings, suitable for a variety of laser wavelengths.  Can’t find what you need?  Ask us to modify a stock lens for quick delivery, or, send us requirements for a complete custom solution.

  • Plano Concave Spherical Lenses

    Description

Plano Concave Lenses, or, “PCX Lenses”, are used to expand light, or, diverge a collimated beam and produce a negative focal length.

  • Bi-convex Spherical Lenses

    Description

Bi-Convex Lenses, or, “Equi-Convex” are utilized for finite imaging.  They are ideal for positive conjugate image ratios from 0.2 to 5 and are most suitable when the object and image are at equal distances from the lens.  Spherical aberration is minimized and because of their geometry, other aberrations and distortions are also minimized.   OptoSigma’s lineup consists of N-BK7 and Fused Silica both uncoated and AR coated options.   Can’t find what you need?  Ask us to modify a stock lens for quick delivery, or, send us requirements for a complete custom solution.

  • Bi-concave Spherical Lenses
