We specialize in providing high-quality products to various industries, including semiconductors, aerospace, defense, and more. We are committed to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Our teams design and build everything from single optical elements to complex multi-element assemblies and systems, working alongside in-house optical, mechanical, systems, electrical, and software engineers. Precision, quality, and hands-on craftsmanship are central to how we work.

About the Role

We're looking for an Optical/OptoMechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and support the development of optical & optomechanical components and systems. This role partners closely with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to bring integrated optical designs from concept through production. You'll also serve as a technical resource for customers and the sales team, helping support inquiries and custom project work as they come up. We're looking for someone energetic and eager to jump into a wide variety of projects, bringing enthusiasm to solving new problems as they come up.

What You'll Do

  • Design and analyze optical systems and components using optical design/simulation software.
  • Perform tolerance analysis and support optical-mechanical integration with the mechanical engineering team.
  • Support prototype build, alignment, and test of optical & optomechanical assemblies and systems.
  • Troubleshoot device performance issues and support root cause investigations.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and manufacturing to define inspection and test criteria.
  • Support new product development from concept through production release.
  • Prepare technical documentation, specifications, test reports, and design records.
  • Support technical related customer questions and inquiries and collaborate with sales and engineering teams on customer projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
  • 3-5 years of experience in optical design, analysis, or testing.
  • Proficiency with optical design/simulation software (e.g., Zemax, Code V, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of optical fundamentals, tolerancing, and opto-mechanical integration.
  • Hands-on experience with optical alignment, test, and measurement equipment.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Knowledge of optical manufacturing processes is desirable.
  • Experience with coatings, laser systems, or precision instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with opto-mechanical design and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Experience supporting production/manufacturing environments.
