IR Lenses
Infrared (IR) Lenses are used for wavelengths beyond the visible spectrum, but some materials also transmit in the visible region. Calcium Fluoride (CaF2) and sapphire are 2 such materials, but ZnSe also transmits in the upper visible (red) range which can facilitate alignment with a HeNe laser. Germanium (Ge) and Silicon (Si) are opaque to all visible wavelengths, but is a popular materials for use out to 20 microns. ZnSe is very popular for mid-wave IR (MIR) and far IR applications. OptoSigma provides a variety of IR Lenses made from the forementioned IR materials and they can be useful for applictaions such as thermal imaging, security, automotive, smart sensing, and more. As always, if you cannot find a standard product that meets your requirements, ask us to manufacutre a custom solution.
