OptoSigma developed Project Avatar, a STEM-based comic book series, showcasing luminaries and their groundbreaking research. Project Avatar’s mission is to create a platform to introduce the world of Optics and Photonics using manga style comics as a medium to bridge pop culture to the world of science.

If you are interested in science and art, we are excited to present an incredible opportunity for you to showcase your artistic talents and feature your artwork in Project Avatar.

Through this contest, we aim to inspire the next generation of innovators and leaders, encouraging them to explore ground-breaking technologies and the endless opportunities within the Optics and Photonics Industries!

We invite everyone interested in drawing a page of our 6th volume of Project Avatar, to register below.

Everyone who submits pages will be sent a Project Avatar Care package. For those whose pages are selected, they will receive a Copic Marker Set. The grand prize winner will be chosen from the selected artists and will be voted on at Photonics West 2024, a major conference where many scientists, researchers, and innovators gather. This person will win a Wacom Drawing Tablet!
