The following tools, tool kits and screw sets will be found useful accessories to your optical laboratory or production area.

Ball drivers are much more convenient than Allen keys for the tightening and removal of hex head capscrews. We offer ball drivers for commonly used optical mounting screws individually or in sets. Individual balldrivers may be purchased for use with 6/32, 8/32, M4, 1/4-20 or M6 screws.

The inch ball driver set includes 5/64, 3/32,7/64, 1/8, 9/64, 5/32 and 3/16 wrenches. The metric ball driver set includes 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5mm wrenches. And the Mini-System screw & toolkit has those tools needed for use with our Mini-System.

Even though screws are provided with all our products, we know the time will come when you cannot find the right screw. Our M2, 6/32, 8/32, M4, 1/4-20 and M6 screw sets include a selection of the most commonly used screws so that you will always have a replacement close at hand. Each set is complete with various length screws, studs washers and hex nuts.

Cross clamps are used to connect two posts together. The half inch posts may be joined to each other or to 6mm posts from the mini-system. Both fixed perpendicular and rotational clamps are offered. These clamps are of the split ring type which provides a high clamping force. They are equipped with capstan screws for ease of use.

The rack-in-pinion post holder allows the user to mount a post and provide quick motion for coarse height adjustment. There are two versions one offers 25mm stroke and the other offers a 45mm stroke.

Mini-posts are 6mm diameter posts of stainless steel with an M4 male thread on one end and a small tightening hole near the threaded end. A range of lengths from 15 to 50mm is offered. They can be mounted onto the mini-carriers or directly onto the mini-baseplates by means of mini-post holders. The mini-post holders also have an M4 thread on one end and are supplied with a matching collar for ease of height maintenance. Mini-post holder lengths range from 15 to 40mm.

Mini-post bases are thin plates of aluminum which have an M4 threaded hole for the mounting of a mini-post or mini-post holder. They also have slots or clearance holes for mounting onto a mini-baseplate. Three types are offered: a simple base with slotted holes either side, an adjustable base with a single 15mm long slot, and a large base which will accept either a mini-post or a mini-stage. The bases are 5mm thick.

Mini-posts can also be connected by means of cross clamps for more versatile positioning of components. We offer two types of cross clamp. One is fixed and one includes an additional stub rod for attachment and rotation.

Posts provide a simple means for mounting optical components. These posts are 1/2 inch in diameter and incorporate precision machined features which make them more convenient to use. Half inch diameter stainless steel posts are machined with a 1/4-20 or M6 female thread on one end and an 8-32 or M4 female thread on the other. They may be stud mounted to a wide variety of component holders. A 4mm clearance hole through the middle of the post provides for the use of a torque bar for tightening. Post collars are offered separately to hold the posts at a preset height. Post holders are made from aluminum and are equipped with a spring loaded clamp screw to hold the post in position. The base of the post holders is fitted with a 1/4-20 or M6 female thread for attachment to a variety of bases. An adjustable height post holder provides 10mm of vertical adjustment which is actuated by the rotation of a knurled ring.
